Surrogacy has given a chance to parents to have their own child. It lets a mother have her own child even if she cannot carry the child in her womb. In surrogacy, a woman who agrees to become a surrogate mother carries and delivers a child for another person or couple.Typically, there are two types of surrogacy arrangements- gestational surrogacy and traditional surrogacy.
- In a gestational arrangement, the gestational carrier has no genetic connection to the child. The surrogate mother will carry a child who is not connected to her either through DNA or genes.
- In a traditional surrogacy, a surrogate gets pregnant with the use of her own eggs. If the surrogate receives compensation for carrying and delivering a child, the arrangement is called a commercial surrogacy.
At BLK Super Specialty Hospital, we offer a surrogacy program for intended parents. Female infertility, medical factors making pregnancy risky or impossible, intended parent is a single man or woman and same-sex couple who wish to become parents could be the various reasons for a couple to opt for a surrogate pregnancy.
